PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Tennessee Valley Falcons Chapter, Falcon Club of America

Since we’ve had our last meeting for 2008 and are headed into the holiday season and 2009, I thought I’d look back at this year and all the fun we’ve had.  Our kickoff meeting in April was highlighted by the arrival of our first grandchild the day before, causing us to miss it! In May we were at the Fairview Church Car Show in Maryville where we again won the Club Participation Trophy.  In June we had our first chapter picnic at Deer Park in Cleveland, another good time with great food followed by a caravan to the Cleveland Cruise-In. July was a busy month with the FCA Nationals in Springfield, MO; the Summit Racing Car Show in McDonough, GA put on by the Southeast Chapter; and a spectacular cruise to Jacky Jones Museum in Haysville, NC, again followed by a cruise back to Cleveland for the Main Street Cruise-In.  In August we started early, toured the Mayfield Dairy Plant, caravanned over to the Athens Diner for lunch, and afterward downtown to the Athens Cruise-In.  September’s high gas prices didn’t deter our caravan to Charlotte for another rainy Carolina Regional Show, but we still had a great time.  In October we had a terrific turnout of TVFC members for a fantastic Fall Cruise led by David Hurst. Too bad Danny had a cooling problem but we hope he gets his Falcon back on the road for 2009.  November saw a small group at the Wagner home, but we had fun in the shop and great food again.  We wound up 2008 at the Athens Diner for more good food and fellowship.  Our chapter has now grown to 18 members and we’re hoping all of them will join in the activities in 2009!
